Independent Component 2

LITERAL
(a) I, Sabrina Carrera, affirm that I completed my independent component, which represents 35 hours of work.
(b) "ASHP Guidelines on Pharmacist-Conducted Patient Education and Counseling." Ashp.org. American Society of HealthSystem Pharmacists. Web. 4 Dec. 2014.
"What Pharmacy Customers Really Want." Smart Retailing Rx. MCKESSON CORPORATION. 11 Apr. 2013. Web. 08 Jan. 2015.
(c)  I first started this component by going through all my notes to see if there were key points I wanted to include in my survey. From there I started to write my survey. I took awhile because I was trying to figure out how I wanted the questions to sound. I had my mom look at it to see if my questions made sense. I then sent it to her so she could print all the surveys out. Now the fun part, cutting every survey. It really wasn’t fun at all. I had to come up with an effective way I would conduct my survey. The next few days after that, I gave my survey to a bunch of my family and friends. When I finished giving my survey, I collected all the data and made a chart to analyze it. I then pasted it all into a notebook so I could have it all together.
INTERPRETIVE
This picture was taken after I print out all the stuff.
Here I am cutting and pasting in the second page of my journal.
In this picture, I am collecting all my data using tally marks. After I finished this, I put my data into the computer to make graphs.
APPLIED

(a)  My EQ is very opinionated. That is why I though a survey would be a good idea. It would either enforce what I already figured or tell me something I didn’t already know. In this case, it enforced what I already knew. This means what I have been researching has been very valuable. I tried to also get as many different age ranges as I possibly could.

Blog 15: Independent Component 2 Approval

1. For my Independent Component 2, I've decided to do a survey. I've decided this because my EQ is mainly opinion based. I would like to get other people's opinion on what I've come up with and help me come up with my third answer.
2.  Like I said before I'm going to make a survey. The survey will be my evidence, along with the data I collect.
3.  This will help my senior project because I can see what other people would like to see in a pharmacy. It can also help me evolve my third answer.

Independent Component 1

Literal
(a) I, Sabrina Carrera, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 31 hours of work.
(b) Independent Component hours are up to date.
(c) I worked 31 extra hours at my mentorship.
Interpretive
I'm firm believer that your mentorship is the best place for research. You get to experience things first hand. You get to learn things you wouldn't read about. As for my proof, I couldn't actually take pictures of what I did due to the fact I deal a lot with patient's information. Luckily the pharmacy has an Instagram. I was featured in their flu shot reminder post. (It was a pretend shot.)

Applied
My independent component has helped my form my new essential question. With my first essential question, I didn't really know what I was doing. By working extra hours, I was exposed to problems the pharmacy encounters and how they solve the problems. An example would be when one of the retirement homes returned more medication than they were supposed to. We had to check to see why we had so much. We found out that they didn't give a patient their full prescription. Our solution to the problem was to go to the house and give a talk to the people in charge on how important it is to give patient's all of their medication.
